Aggregated China Law Information

DLA BJ Business Development Manager

Aggregated Source: China Hearsay
January 10, 2008|

This is a job posting, but I am not including all the details. If you are interested and have the necessary qualifications, feel free to write to me at stan.abrams@dlapiper.com, and I can get you in touch with the right people in our Beijing office. This is not something I have any authority over (i.e., I cannot hire anyone), so if anyone is longing for this job, don’t bother kissing my ass/pai ma pi. You can do that when you get in touch with HR or the Office Managing Partner.

The job description is long, so to summarize, the firm is looking for someone to head up the BD team in Beijing. You would be working both with BD - Asia, which is the regional coordinator, as well as lower-level team members in Beijing. Essentially, BD is fairly self-explanatory for a law firm and includes sector and industry development, business between the China market and other countries, issues related to current local clients and handling of the China relationship with respect to global clients, pitches to prospective individual enterprises, etc. More detail is available upon request.
Qualifications:

·         8-10 years experience in a business development and/or sales-related position

·         Marketing degree and/or suitable marketing-related post graduate qualification

·         Prior experience working in professional services organisation (e.g. law, accounting, banking, finance and or consulting would be favorably regarded)

·         Experience in the conception, preparation and presentation of business development plans across the location

·         Putonghua (Mandarin) speaker preferred, but not essential

·         Demonstrated line management experience
