The Immigration Department has appointed 51 civil celebrants of marriages, bringing the total to 1,405 since the first batch were appointed in April 2006. By mid-September 37,900 couples had given their marriage notice through civil celebrants and 36,100 couples had their marriage celebrated by civil celebrants.
