
Or at least a victim to the hype. The latest:
With the headline shock of seemingly-daily recalls of China-made products sending consumers into a frenzy, Trader Joe's has taken an unusual step. The California-based purveyor of private-label, mostly all-natural products will stop importing single-ingredient products from China by January first.
This might be a good PR move for Trader Joe's, since they deal in the mid to high end of the market. Labels are important for them. Being able to say something isn't from China these days maybe will give 'em a boost, I don't know.
Seems sad, though. People are sheep and respond in bleating groups. Reminds me of the ridiculous stuff people did, for no apparent reason, during SARS.
