Breast cancer rates are up big time in China, and after hearing what they attribute this to, I'm wondering what the equivalent will be for us guys:
An increasing taste for Western-style junk food and unhealthy lifestyles have caused the rate of breast cancer among urban Chinese women to jump sharply over the past decade, a state-run newspaper said Tuesday.
When was it determined that junk food caused cancer? This is really not good news.
"Unhealthy lifestyles are mostly to blame for the growing numbers," professor Qiao Youlin of the Cancer Institute and Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences told the newspaper. Poor diets, environmental pollution and increased stress are among the provoking factors, he said.
OK, poor diets, pollution and stress – gimme a break. I'm a corporate lawyer living in Beijing. All of those things are simply unavoidable.
Not fair.
