Apparently U.S.-China relations are much better than I thought. From ABC News:
U.S. military personnel at Guantanamo Bay allegedly softened up detainees at the request of Chinese intelligence officials who had come to the island facility to interrogate the men — or they allowed the Chinese to dole out the treatment themselves, according to claims in a new government report.
I honestly don't know where to go with this story – or whether it's even true. I do wonder what the political spin, if any, will be in the U.S. Unfortunately it appears to be a halfway decent opportunity for Democrats to score some points against the Bush Administration, raising additional fears about China at the same time.
