Sixty illegal workers and 11 employers have been arrested in joint operations to combat illegal employment activities in the past week.
Officers from the Immigration Department, Police, the Labour Department and the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department raided 51 locations, including recycling depots, restaurants, premises under renovation, retail stores, and factories, in Tsim Sha Tsui, Sham Shui Po, Central, Chai Wan, Tsing Yi, Tsuen Wan, Sheung Shui, and Tuen Mun.
The illegal workers comprised 24 men and 36 women, aged 23 to 67. Four were holders of recognisance forms which prohibit employment.
Six men and five women, aged 40 to 54, were their employers.
