An operational event at Ling Ao Nuclear Power Station that was reported on the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Operations & Management website today had no safety significance, the Security Bureau announces.

During a safety inspection of the No. 4 reactor on August 13, power station staff found some of the plant's radiation-detection-system sensors were unable to transmit real-time readings to the main control room.

Safe operation of the plant was unaffected, and the situation was restored to normal. The event was classified as a Level 0 event on the International Nuclear Event Scale, meaning it had no safety significance.
