Police have arrested a 42-year-old man after his van reportedly struck and killed a woman in Quarry Bay.

The 53-year-old woman was reportedly struck by while crossing the road, near the junction of Kornhill Road and Hong On Street about 9.25am.

She sustained serious head and leg injuries, and was sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where she later died.

The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and has been detained for questioning.
