A 79-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a car in Kwun Tong today.

At about 9.10am, the car was travelling along Ping Tin Road when it reportedly knocked the woman down as she was crossing the road near Ping Chun House of Ping Tin Estate.

She was sent to United Christian Hospital where she died just after 4pm.

A 26-year-old woman told Police she was driving when the accident happened. She and a 29-year-old man were arrested for perverting the course of justice.

The man was also arrested for dangerous driving causing death, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and driving while disqualified.
