Kowloon City Magistracy has jailed a 33-year-old woman for two months for vote-rigging in the 2011 District Council Election, the Independent Commission Against Corruption said today.
On July 16, 2011, she submitted to the Registration & Electoral Office her application to register as an elector, and voted in the election after giving false and misleading information to the electoral officer.
She stated a flat in a building at 27 Yin Chong Street, Mong Kok, was her only or principal residential address, however, in reality, she had never resided there.
She pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in corrupt conduct with respect to voting in an election.
