Police have arrested a 49-year-old van driver after his vehicle reportedly knocked down and killed an 87-year-old man who was crossing the road in Hung Hom.

The van was turning right into Ma Hang Chung Road from Pau Chung Street when it reportedly struck the senior at about 8.40am today.

The man was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he died at 12.46pm.

Police arrested the driver for dangerous driving causing death.
