Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in Sheung Shui in which a 35-year-old woman and a seven-month-old boy died last night.

A 43-year-old man called Police around 9pm when he found his wife and son lying unconscious in their flat in Tsz Tong Tsuen. Initial reports show the woman had entered the kitchen with her son and lit charcoal in a basin, which was found nearby.

The woman and the boy were rushed to North District Hospital, where they were certified dead at around 10pm.

Post-mortem examinations will be conducted.
