Due to the situation in eastern Sabah, Malaysia, the Government today issued an amber outbound travel alert for Malaysia, the Security Bureau says.

Those who plan to visit Malaysia or who are already there should monitor the situation, exercise caution and attend to their personal safety, and residents should avoid travelling to Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna in eastern Sabah.

The bureau will monitor the situation, and Hong Kong residents who need help outside Hong Kong may call the Immigration Department’s 24-hour hotline, at (852)1868.
