Department of Health and Police officers have arrested three women, aged 44 to 51, for the illegal sale of an unregistered pharmaceutical product.
The department found a shop in To Kwa Wan was selling a suspected unregistered pharmaceutical product, namely VietaMas Super Calcium.
It was labelled as containing vitamin D, which is a pharmaceutical product. Products containing vitamin D are over-the-counter medicines used as nutritional supplements.
No Hong Kong pharmaceutical product registration number was found on the product label.
Sale and possession of unregistered pharmaceutical products are criminal offences.
People should stop taking the product immediately, and consult healthcare professionals if they feel unwell after using it.
