Police today charged a 57-year-old man for the murder of his 49-year-old wife in Chai Wan.

 

He was arrested yesterday after his wife was attacked with a knife at a restaurant on Shing Tai Road.

 

She later died in hospital.

 

The defendant will appear in Eastern Magistracy tomorrow.

The two coxswains involved in the Lamma ferry tragedy last year were charged separately today with 39 counts of manslaughter.

 

Their two vessels collided off Yung Shue Wan on October 1, resulting in 39 passenger deaths and 92 injuries.

 

Police arrested the two men, aged 54 and 56, on October 2, along with five other crew members, who will answer bail in mid-April.
