Department of Health and Police officers arrested a 47-year-old man today for selling unregistered pharmaceutical products, in a raid on a retail shop in Tsuen Wan and its main shop in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The department found unregistered over-the-counter products containing glucosamine at the Tsuen Wan shop, including Blackmores Joint Formula 120's and Goodhealth Joint Zone 60's. The company's main shop in Tsim Sha Tsui was also raided, and similar products were found.
Pharmaceutical product registration numbers were not found on the product labels, as the products were sourced by the company outside of Hong Kong, and were not registered with the Pharmacy & Poisons Board. Sale and possession of unregistered pharmaceutical products are criminal offences.
People should stop taking these unregistered products immediately, and consult doctors if feeling unwell after taking them.
