Police charged a 33-year-old man today for the murder of a 30-year-old man in Sheung Shui on April 28.

 

He was arrested in Sheung Shui on May 4, and will appear in Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow.

 

Police have arrested eight men in suspected connection with the case, including two men aged 29 and 21 who have been charged, and a 22-year-old man who is being detained.

Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen says he understands public concern over the issue of babies born to Mainland parents, saying the Government has arranged a series of meetings to discuss the matter.

 

He told the media today the Government will report the progress of work on this matter to the public when appropriate.

 

Meanwhile, he said the Government will consult the public on political reform at an appropriate time, adding it is premature to talk about any prosecution concerning the “Occupy Central” activity.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man today in Lok Ma Chau, for the suspected murder of a 30-year-old man in Sheung Shui on April 28.

 

He and a 33-year-old man are being detained for enquiries, after Police arrested eight men in suspected connection with the case. 

 

An investigation by the Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North continues.
