Police are investigating a traffic accident in Lantau North this afternoon in which a 47-year-old bus driver was killed and more than 30 people were injured.
At about 1pm, a 35-year-old man was driving a van along North Lantau Highway towards Tung Chung when he reportedly cut into the next lane near Siu Ho Wan and hit a lorry driven by a 53-year-old man.
The bus that was behind the lorry then rammed into it.
The bus driver was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious leg injuries, and later died.
The other two drivers, a van passenger and 34 bus passengers were also injured and sent to Princess Margaret Hospital, Yan Chai Hospital, Caritas Medical Centre and Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The injured include 11 males and 24 females aged from one to 72.
