Alert issued on bogus emails

The Monetary Authority has issued an alert on fraudulent emails purporting to be issued by the authority from the email accounts [email protected] and [email protected].

 

The authority said it has no connection with the fraudulent emails and has reported the case to Police.

 

As a central banking institution, the authority does not provide any form of banking services to individuals or companies, or serve as a representative of any financial institution.

 

It does not initiate emails and telephone calls asking people to disclose or confirm their personal or financial information.

 

Anyone who has received the email should call Police at 2860 5012.
