A 54-year-old woman injured in a No.1 alarm fire in Shau Kei Wan on Main Street East on July 17 has died.

The fire broke out in a seventh-floor flat in the King Fai Building just before 2pm on Wednesday. Firefighters put it out before 2:30pm, and evacuated about 35 people to safety.

They found the woman with burns and sent her to Queen Mary Hospital. She died at 9pm last night.

No suspicious circumstances were detected concerning the fire's cause.
