The Customs & Excise Department arrested a 29 year-old man yesterday after officers seized about 1.2 kg of cocaine worth $1.16 million found in his luggage at the airport.

Customs officers stopped the man arriving from São Paulo for baggage examination yesterday, and found the illicit haul in his suitcase.

The drugs were divided into 10 units and concealed in five jackets. The lining in the shoulder areas of each jacket was altered to hide the drugs.

The man will be charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistracy tomorrow.
