The United Nations Sanctions (Somalia) (Amendment) Regulation 2013 and the United Nations Sanctions (Eritrea) (Amendment) Regulation 2013 were gazetted and came into effect today.

They amend the existing regulations on sanctions against Somalia and Eritrea, incorporating the decisions of the United Nations Security Council under Resolutions 2093 and 2060.

The amendments provide for additional exceptions to arms embargo measures against Somalia and Eritrea.
