Chief Executive CY Leung says he and the Police attach great importance to a baby's abduction in Kowloon City yesterday, and officers are investigating at the scene and boundary checkpoints.

 

Speaking to reporters after a regional forum today, Mr Leung said Police and relevant Government departments attach importance to every crime case.

 

He said Hong Kong’s crime situation had improved, not deteriorated, since the launch of the Individual Visit Scheme in 2003, and the rate of Mainland visitors committing crime had been low.

 

He added the Government will step up crime-prevention measures.
