As most covers are made of plastic, they cannot be recycled or sold after they fade out. In other words, it is impossible to sell an old cover. At best, you can donate it to a phone user who genuinely needs a cover.
But when an influencer from Germany jokingly put up her mouldy phone case for sale on eBay, she was gobsmacked by the bids she received.
Bianca Classen, who is an influencer on YouTube with close to 6 million subscribers, was offered a whopping £1,20,000 (Rs 1.19 crore) for her old phone case. The 27-year-old influencer said she had planned to donate the money from the sale to a homeless charity but had to cancel the auction after knowing she would have to pay 10% tax.
Following the wild bid, Biance shared images of the phone case with her fans. She said the cover got wet while she was taking some underwater photos. After that, she had kept it in a cupboard and had forgotten about it for several months.
After she put the cover on eBay for sale. she was taken aback when the bids quickly reached up to £1,19,000. However, tHe generous offer didn't come through as Bianca pulled out of the deal.
