Lazada and ComfortDelGro officially announced a partnership giving users the eCommerce platform access to taxi-booking services within its mobile app.
The partnership would see ComfortDelGro expand its reach by tapping into Lazada’s wide user base while boosting the Alibaba-owned startup’s offerings and “relevance as a one-stop destination for daily needs.”
According to Lazada Singapore CEO James Chang , “This will enrich the shoppertainment experience for customers who are already browsing, playing games, and watching live streams on the app, and with the added convenience of booking taxis, customers can utilize one app to shop, play, and travel.”
The feature was made available on the Lazada app in Singapore on April 8 this year. According to a report, the CDG Taxi service was positioned alongside Lazada’s main offerings, which include LazMall, Taobao, RedMart, and LazLive.
This partnership comes roughly three months after ComfortDelGro added 25 private-hire cars as part of a trial of its ride-hailing service.
