The contemporary American artist KAWS, in collaboration with the Hong Kong creative agency AllRightsReserved, will bring his KAWS: HOLIDAY series to heaven in Great Britain.
The massive inflatable works of the cultural propeller first appeared in 2018 at Seokchon Lake in Seoul, South Korea , and have since landed in several international locations, including Hong Kong, Taipei, and Virginia Beach. Now, at its sixth stop, the KAWS: HOLIDAY series will greet passengers in Great Britain with a hot air balloon in the sky before embarking on a world tour at the end of this year.
The sculptural hot air balloon – at 42 meters one of the largest in the world – reinterprets the characteristic work of the artist, COMPANION, in larger-than-life proportions. KAWS first flew to its flying creation in the British capital of the hot air balloon: Bristol. The colossal, puffed-up character, hovering over miles of breathtaking greenery, ruled the British skies on his debut, as pictured in the gallery above. The KAWS: HOLIDAY hot air balloon world tour will officially start in the fourth quarter of 2020. The trip is now open to package inquiries and accepts both flat-rate and cryptocurrency payments via FTX Pay in the DDT webstore.
To celebrate the latest addition to the KAWS: HOLIDAY range, the artist created a range of 12-inch COMPANION collectibles that are available in three colors: brown, gray and black. In addition, KAWS offers a limited edition container in the same figure construction and a hoodie with the characteristic character of the series, surrounded by clouds.
The collectible figurines are priced at $ 250 while the containers are priced at $ 890. The hoodie sells for $ 99. Buy the collection in the DDT web portal.
Elsewhere in the art world, Pace Gallery is launching two major JR exhibitions in London and New York.
