The number of Chinese companies supplying products to Apple has increased a lot. Cooperation between Apple and China is expanding in spite of the ongoing trade disputes between the United States and China.
According to the Financial Times, 51 out of the 200 biggest suppliers doing business with Apple were Chinese and Hong Kong-based companies last year, when the 200 companies accounted for 98 percent of Apple’s manufacturing processes. On the list, the number of Chinese and Hong Kong-based companies increased by nine in two years.
In addition, Apple did business with 14 Vietnamese companies in 2018, the number increased to 21 last year, and one-third of the Vietnamese companies were owned by Chinese capital last year.
On the other hand, the presence of Taiwanese companies is on the decrease. Their number fell from 52 to 47 from 2017 to 2018 and rose to 48 last year. The number of such Japanese companies fell from 43 to 34 from 2017 to 2020 and the number of such U.S. companies fell from 37 to 32 in that period. POPULAR
