A few weeks ago eBay announced that there were some legal requirements coming into effect for any merchants that were selling products into the EU.
These new requirements were based around the need for products to have a CE mark which symbols that products have met the EU legal and safety standards. eBay has now added a further update which includes an approved list of third-party economic operators and representatives who can assist you with this process.
The full update from eBay is below:
“We recently informed you of the upcoming changes regarding the requirement to include information of an EU economic operator for CE-marked products sold or exported to the EU. This requirement will come into effect on 16 July 2021.
We committed to providing more information on options for our sellers that do not currently have an economic operator. If you are looking for an EU-authorized representative for the products you may sell to or in the EU, we have identified some experienced third-party companies who may be able to assist you. The following companies can provide support for most CE-marked products (whether soft or hard goods) covered by the requirements.
