These are the 2018 version, almost certainly.
Besides, audio tech doesn't move fast. Sennheisers designs are all from the 90's still.
In any case, yes - these are maginally better than the Sony's in everything except ANC. Some people recommend the Sennheiser Wireless Momentum 3's, but I found for the extra price and bulk, they really didn't achieve anything more than the QC35II's. Related Products
