Customs officers have arrested a 56-year-old tractor-trailer driver after seizing smartphones, tablet computers, smartphone motherboards, LCD displays and computer RAM worth $4 million at Lok Ma Chau control point.

The officers stopped a cross-boundary tractor-trailer with a 40-foot-long container which was declared to be carrying 10,075kg of "signal transmitting cables" at about 5pm yesterday.

They found 13 cartons containing 227 smartphones, 22 tablet computers, 308 used mobile phones, 7,859 computer RAM chips, 900 smartphone motherboards and 1,514 LCD displays inside the container.
