Two people were arrested for dangerous driving during a city-wide crackdown on illegal road-racing activities on November 3 and 10.
One of the two was also arrested for taking a vehicle without authority, and for driving without a licence and without third-party insurance.
Police officers detained 16 vehicles for examination, and issued 19 summonses and 550 fixed-penalty tickets for traffic offences.
They also breath-tested 1,217 drivers and arrested nine of them who did not pass the screening breath tests. Five of the nine had alcohol in their breath exceeding the prescribed limit and would be charged with drink driving.
