More than 100 Shek Pik Prison inmates were given certificates at a ceremony today, recognising their academic achievements.
The Correctional Services Department reported the 108 inmates passed 171 papers, and achieved 70 distinctions and credits and a total of 305 university credit points.
One was awarded a Bachelor Degree in Chinese Language & Literature, and another was awarded an Associate Degree in General Studies, both by the Open University.
A total of 260 inmates at the facility have obtained 392 certificates this year in various academic courses and public examinations held by the Open University, the Examinations & Assessment Authority, City & Guilds International, and the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry International Qualifications.
