The Customs & Excise Department and the Department of Health yesterday arrested two men aged 28 and 30 found to be in possession of appetite suppressant, cough syrup and assorted pills worth $750,000.
Officers searched a storeroom suspected of storing dangerous drugs and illegal medicines in an alley in Causeway Bay.
Ninety tablets of appetite suppressant, banned under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, and 1,020 litres of cough syrup in about 8,000 bottles, and 5,710 tablets of assorted pills under the regulation of the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance were seized.
The men arrested were reported to be a pharmacy owner and a pharmacy salesman.
