Police arrested three men and a woman aged 13 to 21 for assaulting a Police officer and obstructing Police during a protest in Tuen Mun today.

 

About 150 people joined a public event at Tuen Mun town centre this afternoon. They shoved Police officers, caused disturbances, threw rubbish bins, and attempted to block the road with mills barriers.

 

Police gave repeated advice and warnings, including displaying warning banners, to appeal to the participants to express their views peacefully and rationally, but they refused to comply.

 

To ensure public safety and public order, Police took resolute action with minimum force to stop the unlawful violent acts.

 

A Police officer and member of the public were injured during the incident.

 

Police strongly condemned this unlawful behaviour, and will conduct further investigations.
