Customs officers have arrested a beauty parlour owner and a beautician for contravening the Trade Descriptions Ordinance in the sale of beauty services to a customer.
The beautician claimed to provide a beauty treatment using a device manufactured by a certain brand, but a customer complained that another brand of equipment was used instead.
Officers arrested the 30-year-old parlour owner and a 25-year-old beautician on April 29. Both were granted police bail pending further investigation.
The department's Unfair Trade Practice Investigation Division reminded beauty service traders and beauticians to abide by the law and state all information to consumers in a clear and accurate manner.
