The Immigration Department and Police arrested 13 Mainland visitors, aged 29 to 53, in an illegal employment crackdown in Sheung Shui on May 9.

 

Two men and 11 women were arrested for breaching their conditions of stay by being involved in suspected parallel goods trading at Choi Fat Street and Po Wan Road in Sheung Shui.

 

Officers seized milk powder, food, skincare products, daily necessities, vehicle components, mobile phones and other electronic products.

 

A total of 2,238 Mainland visitors and 14 Hong Kong residents have been arrested for parallel goods trading since 2012. Of these, 216 Mainlanders have been prosecuted and 205 have been jailed.
