Police have arrested a 42-year-old truck driver after his vehicle reportedly struck and killed a 52-year-old man at the airport today.

 

The truck was travelling on a carriageway inside a loading area of an airfreight terminal on Chun Wan Road about 11am when it reportedly knocked down the victim, who was sent to North Lantau Hospital and later died.

 

The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and has been held for questioning.

 

Witnesses should call Police on 3661 1300.

The Immigration Department is helping four Hong Kong people injured in last night's Tianjin explosion.

 

The department has contacted them and rendered practical assistance according to their situation and wishes.

 

Two have been discharged from hospital, while the others are receiving treatment.

 

The department said it will liaise with the Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing and the injured residents to monitor the situation and render assistance.
