Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 45-year-old woman in Yau Ma Tei early today.

 

Police received report about 3.50am that a woman was injured in a flat at 76 Reclamation Street.

 

Officers found the woman unconscious with cuts to her neck and chest.

 

She was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital and was certified dead about 4.20am.

 

A knife was found near the scene.

 

A 20-year-old man was later arrested in Kwun Tong and is being held for questioning.

Police have reclassified  the case of a baby boy found dead in Cheung Chau yesterday as murder and arrested his 30-year-old mother.

 

The woman called Police at about 5.45pm yesterday to report that her two-month-old son had collapsed inside their flat on Tai San Back Street.

 

Officers found him unconscious with face injuries. He was sent to St John Hospital where he later died.

 

The 30-year-old mother may have shaken her son and was arrested. Her 31-year-old sister was also arrested for misleading Police officers.
