Police have arrested a 57-year-old truck driver after his vehicle reportedly struck and killed an 83-year-old woman in Yuen Long today.

The truck was leaving a refuse collection station near Kin Tak Street about 6.40am when it reportedly knocked down the victim, who was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital and later died.

The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and has been held for questioning.

Witnesses should call Police on 3661 3800.

Customs officers seized around 15 kilogrammes of suspected ivory cut pieces and products worth about $150,000 and arrested a man at the airport today.

Officers stopped the 42-year-old passenger who had arrived from Abuja, Nigeria via Dubai, United Arab Emirates and found the ivory hidden in a tailor-made vest in his hand baggage.
