Aggregated Source: ChinaLegalBlog.com

Customs officers seized 51kg of cut ivory pieces worth $510,000 from two parcels at Hong Kong International Airport yesterday.

The parcels, declared as decorative tiles, were sent from Zimbabwe, via Amsterdam.

The case has been handed to the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department.

This is the second ivory smuggling case in a week with the same modus operandi from Zimbabwe. The other one was detected on September 2.
