People have the right to express views and hold public meetings but they should be conducted lawfully, peacefully and in an orderly manner, Acting Secretary for Security John Lee says.

Speaking to reporters after the Fight Crime Committee meeting today, he said Police have so far received 10 notifications about public events for this weekend.

He said Police will assess public order events according to the risks involved, adding there will be contingency plans to ensure public order.
